So just a question if you don't mind.  Are the lines through the center of the sets of four lines a fifth, or do they just to mark a complete set of four?

That type of tallying makes it a set of 5.

Pretty damn awesome, I seriously like how you textured her skin - it's rough, worn and basically the skin of a warrior. Might be rambling, but I've seen a lot of pieces where the girl's skin is in perfect condition. The cuts on her person is a cool touch. I can almost see her counting kills nonchalantly in front of the head honcho, tallying up his losses.

Yeah that was my thought when doing this piece. I don't like air brushed female warriors.  it doesn't make sense.  They'd be just as gritty and hardcore as their male counterparts and of course they'll be scarred up as well!  This was fun to do so I'm glad that someone appreciates the approach!  :)

Super old piece ? Well, it's a luck that everything that is old isn't always bad.

Really, it's good stuff. :-)

I'm just talking about the intimidation factor! If its size and frightening guard design weren't enough to make an enemy run screaming, the kill notches would! Those notches are what puts this over the top, for me. I've heard of people notching a gun, but notching a huge sword blade using blood as paint just takes psychological warfare to another level. The idea is just magnificent.

A very inefficient way for counting.

Very true, but it IS an affective means of creating abstract art on your sword.

So she is rather doing it for a meditative purpose instead of counting her victims?
